Maiden 03/19/2005: Wow! What a plane. I have nicknamed it the Gentle Giant. It has an abundance of power, and I only had 3/4 throttle. I hadn't noticed a binding throttle pushrod. I was also running it pretty rich while the ST breaks-in. Biggest surprise? The prop torq! It pulls hard to the left on takeoff. I think I need some more right thrust. Downthrust, too, for that matter. It want to climb at full (actually 3/4) throttle. 5/8 inch aileron throw was recommended. It will turn the plane, but even at 2+ inches of throw on high rates, I would have liked some more. I guess that is how a scale plane behaves. Scariest Moment? On takeoff, the right wheel pant got twisted downward in the tall grass. I was afraid that a landing might result in a crash. All went well. No damage! Lots of construction pics by request!
